Hello all,
We have 2 mailarchiving servers. we have 1 dr server.
We did not share the storagequeue.
1 mailarchving server has been failed over to the dr server, due to an issue with disks.
The mailarchiving server still has items in the storagequeue location.
How should I proceed:
Do I copy the files to the dr servers storage location, and have them processed there (will they?)
Do I leave them, failback, and then have them processed (will they?)
Do I need to do something else?

We are using EV with Exchange 2013. Due to corporate policies, we are in need to:
- Timeout the user session in case of inactivity after certain period (ex. 20 mins). The timeout we need is on web browser where user performs search. What i heard and understand is that user session inactivity deconnexion setting in IIS has no effect on search pages provided by EV. Is there any way to enfore our corporate policy by setting session expiratoin is asp page, global.asa or web.config?
- Make the cookies HttpOnly for security reasons. Can this be set in global.asa?
Generally, will modifications to web.config have effect on web pages produced by EV?

We have noticed recently that when someone attempts to use the store-in-vault function from the Enterprise Vault client for Outlook, if the email being stored is located in a non-default folder, the icon and message class do not change. If the email being stored is in the Inbox or Sent folder, everything works as expected.
The normal day-to-day automatic archiving process appears to work properly (emails past the target date show with the correct icon).
Also, this only occurs when running Outlook in cached mode. If we connect Outlook directly to the server, the behavior is as expected.
We have been working a case with tech support for 3 weeks now, and they have not been able to identify a reason.

We have stopped using EV to Archive files here and I was wondering how to drop the Indexes related to these now defunct File Archives. We wish to free up the storage.

We are running EV10. I have added another exchange 2003 server to Enterprise Vault and i can't see the EV icons in OWA. However when opening an archived email withing OWA it opens fine and Outlook also works fine.
Here are the steps i have done to Troubleshoot this;
- Run owauser.wsf on the EV server and restarted services and IIS with success
- Installed the 2003 Extentions (EV10) and restarted IIS
- Run the Extension on OWA (front-end) Server again and retarted IIS (when typing proxycfg the new Exchange server is in the bypass list).
- I have also bypassed proxy completed on the backend server.
Any ideas?
I currently have a number of customers on various 10 versions of EV and am looking to start planning the EV11 upgrade. As 11.0.1 is now available I am planning on deploying it.
I see and can access the 11.0.1 CHF1 ISO, but cannot locate the 11.0.1 base code itself. I am assuming there is a full ISO install for 11.0.1 as opposed to an update to 11.0 (I already have the 11.0 code dated May 2014).
I can only locate upgrade notifications for 11 (nothing for 11.0.1), and when I use the serial number associated with those upgraded licenses I see the original 11.0 code from May 2014.
Anyone assist here ?

We are running EV 10.0.4 against MS Exchange 2013 on Windows 2012 and have a DAG of two Exchange servers.
Things were working until recently we moved the Mailbox Databases all over to one of the exchange servers, prior to this the databases were shared between the servers.
This was only a temporary exercise and the mailbox databases were immediately moved back to their original location.
Ever since the move the EV archive task for exchange server 1 is unable to see any of the mailbox databases.
Is there something that needs to be done in exchange or is this an EV config issue?
Looking in Powershell I can see that even though the database is mounted on server 1 the actual EV system mailbox thinks it is still on server 2!
I saw something on Google which mentions Active Directory but I'm out of my depth here and would appreciate some help.
Does anyone have a SQL Query that will return the results of each day's search. Name, Dept, Hits.Sampled, Duplicates?

I'm struggling to find any useful info on the net about the address of the webpage what should be displayed when you click on the Indexing item in the left pane of VAC. All the time getting an error in the right part of the VAC selecting Indexing:

We are performing DR failover testing and would like the EV and CA servers to be in backup mode. It is straight-forward to put EV into backup mode. We do have journaling connector installed and random sampling enabled. Anyone know how to do it for CA without shutting down the CA Admin service?
The conern is we don't want the default sampling runs to happen at 8pm and 1am. But we do want to bring up CA on the DR server to test.
I see there is an option to uncheck "Enable background processing of captures items". Would that stop the pre-smapling and sampling from running at the prescribed times?

The problem is:
The format of email address that displaying in Discovery Accelerator is: "<Name Surname> email". For example, "Serhii Kohan skohan@example.com".
If the Last Name is not specified, the EV in the search results in the FROM: or TO: fields, write skohan@example.com.
But if name specified, it will only display the "Serhii Kohan", and then to find out what is the actually address of the recipient/sender - we have to open source code of mail and look to the header.
We'd love to EV display the full address format, or at least only the e-mail address rather than a name.

Our main goal is:
We need to make a reports of reviewed emails from DA, using SQL query in report template.
And we even achieved the result, using complicated query with JOIN clauses.
Now, we have the review report include such headers:
FROM: ---- TO: ---- SUBJECT: --- ATTACHMENTS: --- DATE: --- MARKS: --- TAGS: --- COMMENTS: ---
The problem is, that FROM: / TO: headers include only Name and Surname (for example: Serhii Kohan), instead of full email address, like: "Serhii Kohan skohan@example.com".
We suppose that there is a table in some DB of EV, which has Name and Surname with actually email address.

We were researching in SQL DB to find some connection betwen Name Surname and email address. But did not find anything.
The TSE said that "This is a default behavior and EV can not display the full address format." and offer to make a feature enhancement.
But we know that if there is a possibility to search Sender or Recipient email address by Name or Surname there must be some table in DB which contain such info.
PLEASE HELP US TO FIND SOME NONTRIVIAL SOLUTION TO THIS CASE..

I have performed several DR tests with indexes. Especially I tested 2 things
- index volume loss (just root path of an index volume was kept, everything below I deleted)
- index volume restores from an older backup
It was index for an Exchange mailbox archive.
In both cases, when an end user performed a search in MS Outlook, he received an error. But it seems that this search attempt launched some automatic "self-heal" on the EV server, and after a few seconds, index volume was ok and up-to-date. (And there was nothing reported about this in EV Event Viewer.)
I think this feature is ok, but I did not find anything in documentation. In Admin Guide, there is something about automatic index metadata synchro, but I think it is something else.
Has anybody some comments to it?

I'm starting on a project to upgrade an EV8 installation to EV11. Before I start in earnest on the live setup I have been given a test domain to play with, this was the original system that someone else installed many many moons past.
The first thing I did was check the version currently installed, and this is where my first point of confusion started. Can anyone help me work out which version is installed please.
In the EV console Help - About EV it tells me I have version 9.0.5.1067
In Control Panel - Add/Remove software - it tells me I have version 9.0.5.1067
The executables in the Program Files folder again show :
EVPM.exe = 9.0.5.1067
DTrace.exe = 9.0.5.1067
So it looks very much like I am looking at 9.0.5.1067
However the Registry key : [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KVS\Enterprise Vault\Install] "Version" shows 8.0.5.1048 for Version and Full Version.
Which is correct? Has anyone seen a version mismatch like this before? I was intending to upgrade this to version 9 but most of the information I can see tells me that I am probably already on version 9.0.5 other than the registry which tells me it is version 8 which is what I was expecting.
Which is correct and any ideas on how this happened?

I have EV 7.5 Server that i need to decommission and i need your help with the startup of process.
Do I have to start first by deleting the Archives ? Because when i set an archive for deletion its taking way to long.
Can you please provide me steps to follow the decommission.
