how to restore items from EV Storage Queue?

Hello,
I see that EV 11 Storage Queue is a good point for end users - no Pending shortcuts between EV partititon backups etc. But what about potential restore procedure?
Because when I use traditional Safety Copies in end-user mailboxes, and a failure impacts EV partition before backup, I can simply revert Pending shortcuts back into original mails.
But with Safety Copies in Storage Queue, under the same failure scenario, is it possible to use them SQ for reverting shortcuts into original mails?

which users have Vault Cache?
I need a solution
Hello,
lets say that in Desktop Policy we have a value "Users can decide" about their Vault Cache setup.
Is it possible to find out, from an EV server side or from a SQL database, who has VC and who does not have?
There is this tool: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/downloads/vault-cache-status-tool, but is not here something more integrated in EV today?

OWA Issue

EV11 Custom Filtering & SMTP archiving/journaling
I need a solution
Can't seem to find any reference to this - does EV11 SMTP archiving (when used for Exchange journaling) support custom filtering (for example, rule set files for setting retention based on membership in a DL). Or, is there equivalent functionality using some other new method? Thanks!

Local Intranet Zones w Outlook Anywhere
I need a solution
EV 11.01 Windows 8.1, IE11, Outlook 2013
I have some end users who have the EV Servers in their Local Intranet Sites as per the EV Policy. The problem is that with the EV servers. (Alias, Alias FQDN and Hostname) in the Local Intranet Sites, they are unable to reach the EV Search Page in Outlook. When I remove the EV Server from the Local Intranet Sites and add them to Trusted Sites, it works fine. Any guidance?

Exchange 2010 Journaling and EV DL Expansion
I need a solution
Ever since Exchange Envelope Journaling was released, we've always recommended to enable DL Expansion in the Journal policy, due to the additional functionality and benefits this provides, per this technote:

However, with Exchange 2010 (and/or later) is EV DL Expansion still providing any additional functionality or benefit?
Is there an updated technote that describes what EV DL Expansion accomplishes with Exchange 2010 and later?

Outlook Cache Mode prompt- how to hide the prompts (EV11)

Hello,
Im looking for some information in how to silent the prompts you get on first time login to outlook using Enterprise Vault Cache mode.
We have just recently bought EV11 and we are currently testing on a few test users.
We have it working normally in our citrix envoirment ( No Cache mode )
But now we are testing a new laptop policy that uses Cache mode. We have the outlook addin installed on these test laptops.
The problem is that when we login to our test laptop under the test account that has the policy set to use Cache mode.
The user get the following prompts when he launches outlook for the first time after been added to the laptop group.
My question is there a way to silent the below prompts so users dont see them, I have searched around on forms and googled it. but i cant see anywere that has come into this problem nor on this version of EV11.

I have a question to the new IMAP feature in EV11.
Can I not use IMAP for my archive in a Citrix environment instead of the Virtual Vault? I mean using IMAP for archiving mails. Another scenario is that an assistant can use IMAP to get access to the boss archive and do the archiving.

Exchange archive folders loosing permissions
I need a solution
Hello,
a customer is having the problem that sometimes some of the exchange archives are loosing the inherited folder permissions from exchange. Synchronization takes place at 12 am and 12 pm. From what I understand the folder hierarchy and permissions should be synchronized on an exchange mailbox archiving task Run which is scheduled between 3 and 7 am. Am I right here?
So the normal synchronization at 12 am and 12 pm should not be respsonsible for the loose of the permissions.
We tried tracing the archiving task and it shows:

If this is the case - What could have changed the permissions on the folders in the archive? Nothing has changed on exchange side.
Is this a common problem or does anyone know how to investigate further on this?

Enterprise Vault Exchange 2010/2013 coexistance
I need a solution
We are currenlty in a 2010/2013 coexistance, with Enterprise Vault 10.4, hotfix 3
When I point DNS to the 2013 environement, the 2010 archive tasks fail. As well, I've noticed that after adding the 2013 Exchagne servers as targets, only one database from each of the Exchange 2013 servers is listed (they are 3 active databases on each of the 2013 serve
Was reading another forum post that questioned whether the Enterprise Vault service account mailbox needs to be moved to the 2013 environment - does this need to happen (setevpermissions has been run on the 2013 servers)
Can anyone comment on their experience with 2010/2013 coexistance and their enterprise vault setup? I do currently have a ticket open with support, but still not working.

Cannot export archives to PST - ERROR
I need a solution
For several months now we've been unable to export EV archives...either to a PST or to the original mailbox. We get an error, "The Migrator Server on XXXX has shut down. Check that your storage server is running."
I have been working with Symantec for over 3 months and they are no closer to finding a solution. The word frustrating is an understatement. We've done a million dtraces and my current tech has been trying for over a month just to capture a dump file with full heap enabled. He has been unable.
Has anyone run into this?
A little about our environment...one EV server, version 10.0.4 running on Server 2008. Secondary storage is on a DELL NAS, after one year archives push to Amazon storage.

Just a general question. Unfortunately found no Info about it.
Is there any difference in archiving inline-attachments (Screenshots) in domino vs. exchange?
In exchange in-line attachments will be archived and are accessible via EV.
In domino it seemed that in-line attachments will not be archived and blow up the mail-database.

Problem with manual exchange archiving, store/restore
I need a solution
Hi,
Manual Store and Restore does not work anymore in our environment. I get an error popup saying: "Could not process the selected items. Reason: A server error has occured." when selecting a mail and clicking "Store" or "Restore" in EV Outlook addin.
There are no errors in event log at the client side nor server side. It has worked before, not sure when it stopped working, but we have recently upgraded Exchange to CU8, that is the only change on the system since I know it worked last time. Everything else seems to be working fine regarding EV and archiving. I can doubleclick an archived mail and it opens up fine in full view. I can browse and search Archive explorer. Same problem for all users.
Setup:
single EV 10.0.4 CHF3 on W2k8 server
Exchange 2013 CU8 on W2k8 servers
Outlook 2013 with EV addin on clients.
I am kind of lost since i can't find any traces of the error in event logs. Can't find much on google either.

PST Locator task - NetAppHomeMap
I need a solution
Hello,
A customer needs to locate PST files that were on a netapp filer. PST files are opened in Outlook through mapped drive X:\%username%
Unfortunately, PST Locator task failed to translate share name X:\ to UNC.
I've found http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH130826 with NetAppHomeMap registry configuration... but made no changes.
Have you ever set up this registry ? There is not much information out there (in registry_values.pdf for example)

I need a solution
Morning all, I have been asked the following question, and I'm not really sure where to start from an Ev troubleshooting perspective, if in fact this is even an Ev problem
I've an EV Add-In Outlook v. 11 that displays "This item contains active content that cannot be displayed in the reading pane. Open the item to read its contents" when previewing emails. When I open them they display just fine. I've reset the forms cache, but I'm stumped really as to what my next move should be?
Any ideas?
